AFRL Sensors Directorate revitalizes mentoring program through Lunch and Learn courses

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio (AFRL) – The Air Force Research Laboratory Learning Office continued their Lunch and Learn series recently with two mentoring courses connected to the Wright Connections Mentoring Program.

The two courses were geared toward teaching employees how to use programs available to them for both mentorship and professional development purposes.

“Finding a mentor and leveraging that relationship to develop and improve near and long-term career plans can appear to be a daunting task,” said Steve Rajotte, AFRL Sensors Directorate Test Lead and instructor of the MyVector course. “These courses offered in the Lunch and Learn series provide the information and support through live discussions and demonstrations to help mentees get started on the right foot.”

AFRL mission success starts with the individuals that make up the organization. A willingness to learn and grow not only stimulates personal development, it helps develop the organization as a whole.

“We need our Airmen to embrace a career long commitment to learning and development so our workforce can grow to their full potential and best serve the needs of our global warfighter customers,” said Hector Guevara, Multi-Domain Sensing Autonomy Deputy Division Chief at AFRL Sensors Directorate, and instructor of the Career Developmental Education and Individual Development Plan course.

AFRL employees created a collaborative environment to ehnace professional development as team.

“Our most important resource is our people,” said Simone Koram, AFRL Sensors Directorate Learning Officer. “I have been fortunate that the professionals I ask to present courses are so willing to help enrich, shape, and prep the growing workforce. With their help, we are able to deliver learning opportunities and reach so many organizations internal and external to AFRL.
