Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information and Resources

As the Delta variant continues to impact the United States and the state of Ohio, it is imperative that we continue to follow Public Health recommendations in order to mitigate spread. Critical components to these recommendations are understanding quarantine and isolation.

  • Isolation – you isolate when you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or a positive COVID-19 test (even without symptoms).
  • Quarantine – you quarantine when you have been exposed to the virus. For Public Health purposes, this is defined by being a “close contact.”
  • Close contact – someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person (laboratory-confirmed or a clinically compatible illness) for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period (for example, three individual 5-minute exposures for a total of 15 minutes).
