Bioprincipic Research

Our interdisciplinary team of biologists, physicists and engineers research the ways in which biological systems sense and navigate through their environments in order to understand the principles driving the efficient, robust performance they exhibit.  The team applies those principles in order to improve engineered systems of interest to the Air Force. One such engineered system is the Wide Field of View (WFOV) seeker technology that could be employed on weapons systems or ISR platforms, allowing the system a much wider field of view for situational awareness, obstacle avoidance, and helping mitigate potential loss of GPS.
