AFRL Century Series – Chapter 7: MATERIAL

Everything Airmen do and use goes back to materials researched and developed by AFRL’s Materials and Manufacturing Directorate. The scientists and engineers here invent the future, using materials characterization to learn the structure, strength and unique characteristics of materials to develop and improve technologies for the warfighter. At the most fundamental level, warfighting technologies are all composed of materials, and providing Airmen with the most advanced and mission-appropriate materials is critical to safety and success.
