AFRL Tech: Contributing the F-1 Rocket Engine

In 2019, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of mankind’s first landing on the moon. The Apollo command module stood on the very top of the largest rocket ever launched, The Saturn V. This rocket was lifted off the Earth’s surface by the most powerful rocket engines ever designed. We recently traveled to Edwards Air Force Base and the Kennedy Space Center to learn about AFRL’s contribution to this amazing launch vehicle.
