AFMC commander: I am an Airman

Gen. Arnold W. Bunch, Jr., Commander, Air Force Materiel Command, discusses diversity, equality and the importance of having those ‘difficult conversations’ surrounding these topics to the success of the AFMC and Air Force mission.

“I am a father, husband, neighbor, and friend. And like you, I am an Airman. I am an Airman who believes in our core values, our oath, and our Constitution. I am an Airman and Commander who is proud of the Air Force Materiel Command Team and honored to work for all 87,000 of you in the largest and most diverse major command in the Air Force. We represent all races, ethnicities, religions, sexual identities and orientations, educational backgrounds, career fields, generations, uniform and non-uniform Airmen. The diversity of our Team is a strength. Our views, experiences and skills contribute to the Team and as I often say, “none of us is as smart as all of us.” We need to begin a dialogue that starts with simply listening.” –Gen. Arnold W. Bunch, Commander
