WHAT IS IT?
BATDOK®, a fit-for-purpose, mobile capability designed for medical missions, is revolutionizing point-of-injury care throughout the Department of Defense. Developed by AFRL, the technology has undergone rigorous testing with end users such as combat medics, ground surgical teams, and transport personnel, who have offered invaluable feedback to the development teams.
BATDOK® is a part of 711th Human Performance Wing, Product Development Branch whose mission is to deliver rapid and field ready solutions to the warfighter through innovation and engineering expertise.
BATDOK® gives medical providers the ability to record essential data, including injury types and treatment details, by digitally logging them on mobile devices. Featuring user-friendly touch buttons, it provides medical providers with a rapid and efficient method to document observations and actions.
In 2022, the tool was selected by Joint Operational Medicine Information Systems’ (JOMIS) point-of-injury and en route care solution for DoD Operational Medicine. Currently, AFRL and JOMIS collaborate to enhance this capability for deployment across all DOD services.
Modernizing patient care using digital means versa traditional paper records, BATDOK® proves effective patient documentation across the entire continuum of care. From battlefield scenarios and patient evacuations via air transport to permanent care facilities, BATDOK® tailors its interface to meet provider needs.
